Our Featured Contact Lenses
Which Contact lens is Right for You?
The contact lens industry is fast paced and constantly changing, with new developments to contact lenses being released several times a year. Here at Southlake Eye Clinic we pride ourselves on providing the latest technology that is available in contact lenses. Our primary concern is keeping our patients eyes as healthy as possible by providing the newest, most innovative lenses available on the market today. We also specialize in fitting multifocal, toric and rigid gas permeable lenses. There are a variety of lenses available to fit any lifestyle.
Daily wear contacts are the healthiest and most convenient option because they are disposed of on a daily basis, meaning that you are inserting a fresh contact lens everyday, so there is no cleaning and storing your lenses overnight. These contacts are great for all but especially young contact lens wearers, the occasional wearer as well as long term wearers. They are great for an active lifestyle, sports and travel.
Two Week Disposable
Two week disposable lenses are the most common. This lens is inserted daily, taken out at night to be cleaned and stored in a case overnight. They are disposed of at the end of the two week period. This lens is great for most people, even the occasional contact lens wearer. These lenses also come as clear or colored depending on your personal preference.
Monthly disposable lenses or extended wear contact lenses are becoming more popular. These lenses are worn daily, stored and cleaned overnight and disposed of after 30 days. This lens usually works best for those that primarily wear their contacts as opposed to glasses. They are great for long days of wear as they are designed to be more breathable and comfortable for a month long.
Toric Contact Lenses
Toric lenses are contacts that are designed to accommodate patients that have astigmatism. These lenses are available in daily, bi-weekly and monthly disposable formats, making it extremely convenient and easy for these patients to have the best vision possible.
Multifocal Contact Lenses
Multifocal lenses work extremely well for those patients that need both distance and near vision. These lenses are designed so that you can see far, near and intermediate distances without wearing any additional type of reading glasses on top of your contacts. They are available in daily, bi-weekly and monthly disposable formats as well.
Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses
Otherwise known as RGP lenses are a hard or “rigid” lens that works great for patients with difficult prescriptions, high astigmatism or even keratoconus. These lenses are not disposable as they are custom ordered to fit each patient individually.
